Robinhood's Layer-2 ecosystem has attracted liquidity and strengthened its network activity.
Robinhood has advanced its UK expansion after securing FCA crypto registration on 31st July, strengthening its position before broader regulations arrive. The approval allows the company to offer eligible crypto services under the UK’s current anti-money laundering framework. It also gives Robinhood an early foothold before the country’s new digital asset regime begins in October 2027. However, the company must still secure separate authorization under the upcoming rules. Rather than completing its regulatory journey, this milestone strengthens Robinhood’s market position and reduces expansion uncertainty. It also gives the company more time to build infrastructure, attract customers, and prepare for the UK’s evolving regulatory framework. That early preparation could strengthen Robinhood’s long-term competitiveness across Europe’s growing digital asset market. An uptick in ecosystem growth That stronger regulatory footing now finds support in Robinhood Chain’s rapidly expanding on-chain ecosystem. Total value locked climbed to $733 million, with established DeFi protocols accounting for most deployed capital. Of this total value locked, Morpho [MORPHO] represented over $308.07 million, Ethena [ENA] represented $214.37 million, and Maple Finance [SYRUP] represented $69.16 million, at press time. In addition to these values being utilized as liquidity in the networks represented by each of these protocols. Moreover, Uniswap’s [UNI] contribution of $58.31 million further seemed to support the sustained expansion of network liquidity due to an increasing number of participants from well-established Ethereum applications utilizing the networks. Rather than relying solely on speculative inflows, the ecosystem is now attracting recognizable protocols that deepen liquidity and improve capital efficiency for users. Even so, concentrated liquidity remains a key consideration. Long-term resilience will depend on broader protocol diversity, sustained user activity, and whether today’s capital remains deployed after early growth moderates itself. Can growth become self-sustaining? As the Robinhood Chain ecosystem expands, attention will now focus more on whether the network can keep momentum going. At the time of writing, DefiLlama data showed that the ecosystem held $391 million in TVL, along with bridged assets worth $1.08 billion and a stablecoin supply worth $534 million. Meanwhile, the network has been generating about $48,000 in daily chain fees while applications collected $1.29 million in fees and roughly $199,000 in revenue. Those numbers may be evidence that liquidity is actually resulting in measurable activity, rather than sitting idle. Lasting success will now depend on retaining users after early incentives fade. Rising active addresses, broader protocol participation, and consistent transaction activity would strengthen that outlook. If regulatory access continues to route users onto the blockchain, Robinhood could strengthen a durable ecosystem where liquidity, usage, and revenue increasingly reinforce each other. Final Summary Robinhood strengthened its UK crypto expansion as Robinhood Chain surpassed $733 million in total value locked. Robinhood’s long-term crypto strategy now depends on sustaining on-chain liquidity, user activity, and recurring network revenue.
