Meanwhile, the Fairshake PAC that is backed by Ripple has launched a $30 million campaign against former US Senator Sherrod Brown following the collapse of the CLARITY Act bill.
Ripple-Backed PAC Launches Campaign Against Sherrod Brown
The biggest PAC in the crypto industry, Fairshake, which is backed by top crypto firms including XRP issuer Ripple and Coinbase, has reportedly planned a $30 million advertising campaign against the former Senator of Ohio, per a report by The New York Times.
The report adds that the $30 million campaign budget is the most aggressive move that the crypto PAC has made ahead of the November mid-term elections, and could sway the Ohio Senate race.
Former FOX Business reporter Eleanor Terrett notes that if Brown were to win the Ohio Senate race, he could reclaim his seniority in the Senate and potentially become the new Chair of the Senate Banking Committee.
Fairshake’s campaign against Brown comes on the back of the CLARITY Act collapse, after the bill received only 49 votes out of the required 60 votes to invoke cloture.
Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, has since blamed Democrat Senators for the bill’s collapse, terming them an “anti-crypto army,” as earlier reported by CoinGape.
XRP Whales Open $17M Long Positions as Hyperliquid Open Interest Soars
Data from CoinGlass shows that the whales on Hyperliquid have opened $16.91 million worth of long positions on XRP price between September 21 and September 22.
This long positioning suggests that the momentum is currently favoring bulls, as more whale addresses bet that the XRP price will continue to gain.
The increased number of long positions on XRP has also pushed the open interest for XRP on the exchange to $298.22 million.
This is the highest OI reading for XRP on Hyperliquid since January 2026, suggesting that the speculative demand around the altcoin has increased.
XRP Price Breaks Out From Bull Flag Pattern
The one-day chart shows that XRP price has moved above the resistance of a bull flag pattern. This move usually precedes a strong uptrend if the buying pressure remains high.
XRP value today has also moved above the resistance of this bull flag at $1.52, and it is now testing it as support. If the support holds, XRP might target the psychological obstacle at $1.60 before resuming the uptrend.
On the downside, the support for XRP price lies at $1.39. If it closes below this support, XRP might move lower towards the mid-September lows of $1.28.
The OBV line that is rising suggests that the buying pressure is outpacing the selling pressure, and if this trend holds, XRP price might edge higher.
The ADX line that is also tipping north suggests that the uptrend is strong, and this could fuel a bigger move to the upside.
